Hello Dreamers

Komal here- Thank you for the incredible, and continued support for our World Premiere in NYC on June 9th! We only have 80 tickets left, and have been blown away by the messages of love, and support we’ve received in the past two weeks - thank you for that!

It’s been a while since I’ve written an update to you personally. The past two months have been a rollercoaster for Erin, the team and I, and today I wanted to share a bit of what’s been going on behind the scenes.

After moving to NYC in January, Erin and I were working to build our rhythm together, and I was doing the self work needed to get adjusted to this big beautiful city, and the work we love to do. In the mix of this, I went back to Canada for some routine blood work, and I left the doctor’s office with a diagnosis of a rare, but highly treatable form of cancer.

What happened next included a series of phone calls, tears, and loving support that came in from family and friends, and from Erin and the team. I was hit with stages of grief, and sadness. I went for my scans, and appointments, and eventually found my laughter again. I found my joy, and I found our work again. I’ve been writing about my experience on my blog, which you can read here.

My surgery to remove the cancer is set for Monday, May 2nd, and I am so looking forward to being on the other side of this diagnosis, cancer free. I know next week will be tough, but there is so much strength and joy we derive from this community, that I can’t help but feel grateful and forward thinking.

On that note, we have some incredible news to share with you.

We have confirmed an exclusive preview of Dream, Girl at The White House on May 26th in the South Court Auditorium with 180 key individuals from Capitol Hill alongside our cast, friends, and family.

There are few films that have the honor of premiering at The White House, and we count ourselves incredibly blessed to have our first feature film be one of them.

Thank you, all of you, for your continued support, love and encouragement. We know the movement we are in the midst of building is going to impact millions around the world, and this amazing event will just be the first of many in our journey of impact.

If you haven’t yet, make sure to buy your tickets for the World Premiere in NYC, and stay tuned for a profile of the first member of The Dream 10: ten women, men, and organizations who are investing $10k to bring our premiere to life. We'll be featuring Suzanne West, a champion for us since day one. We can’t wait to share her story with you soon!

Love,

Komal
